Let's do a brief exercise, shall we?
by Mr. Falcon inplease read this excerpt from the creator book by jehovah's witnesses:.
nothing can change this declared purpose of the creator, namely, that the whole earth should be turned into a paradise filled with happy humans living at peace with one another and with the animals.. .
okay, pretty simple right?

Please read this excerpt from the Creator book by Jehovah's Witnesses:
*** ctchap.6p.100AnAncientCreationRecord—CanYouTrustIt?***
“Nothing can change this declared purpose of the Creator, namely, that the whole earth should be turned into a paradise filled with happy humans living at peace with one another and with the animals.”
Okay, pretty simple right? Lots of critters to pet. I can dig it.
Now, look at the picture below.
KILL. IT. WITH. FIRE.
Don’t worry in Paradise you will get to pet one of these. Or all four. Okay.
On the other hand science informs me that these large carnivorous Japanese hornets* will RIP ME A NEW ONE if I go near them.
I think I’ll stay with science.
* pretty sure that's what they are. But if I'm wrong, suck it. I'm not friggin Marty Stouffer.

"I worked hard as a Ministerial Servant and all I got was this lousy drinking problem!"
by Mr. Falcon ini was driving home the other evening pondering the past couple of turbulant years for me and my family.
i reflected back on my appointment as a ministerial servant and my attitude, beliefs and thinking at the time.
i thought about the subsequent misery that being a servant brings once the the glow wears off and people stop "commending you on your fine spiritual progress.

TMS, thank you for sharing that stuff. People really need to hear this shat before they go pondering the real meaning of "holy spirit". It just seems that this holy spirit is fail-proof, even when it's "workings" cleary screw everything up.
I've heard it so stated so damn often whenever someone get deleted or whatever that it's not holy spirit's fault, but somehow this was all part of the big game plan.
So a JW who is secretly leading a double life gets appointed. (Holy spirit saw qualities in him, he is a "gift in men") He operates as an elder for years, making life-changing decisions that make deep impacts on people's lives such as disfellowshipping, hospital liasons, etc. But he continues to practice his "vices" in secret. (Holy Spirit allows this to continue) Then he gets caught in one of his vices and is deleted (Holy Spirit acts like It just found out and now acts to remove him and keep the congregation clean). Accounts later come out that verify that many of the decisions and actions he made while an elder were wrong and unfair. (But you can't blame Holy Spirit.)
yup. makes total sense.

The Path to FREEDOM
by SweetBabyCheezits ini realize i peddle carl sagan like christians peddle jesus but i think every one of us who has survived the watchtower, regardless of our current beliefs, should be able to appreciate this.
in the path to freedom (chapter from one of his books), sagan was discussing frederick (bailey) douglass's life in the early 19th century and his quest for literal freedom.
see if anything here sounds familiar:.

I dreamed I went to Heaven.....
by Phizzy inand there, seated on a golden throne was jehovah, not frightening at all, very impressive but benign looking, with a pleasant smile, he said "would you like to ask me anything?".
it flashed through my mind that i would ask him the question about allowing evil, but i thought i might not get too long to question so i said : .
"are you the supreme being ?".

Thanks for all the feedback. I feel much better knowing that I wasn't crazy for believing that Holy Spirit is an actual power.

JW Careers - Meter Reading??
by rrb2016 ini remember in the 70's and 80's the big jw career was pin striping...in addition to the regular careers like janitorial and window washing.
now i hear the big career is meter reading in the pacific northwest.
what are some of the other jw careers that are hot in the 2012 and the "end is closer than ever?
-
Mr. Falcon
a lot of dubs by me at least are big on grifting their own brethren with countless sales pitches.*
Silpada jewelry (sp?)
tupperware
Tastefully simple
you name it.
* I'm not knocking anyone who may be doing this kind of sales work, but it's the WAY that JWs go about it. constantly selling to their fellow congregants, many of whom are KNOWN to be on fixed incomes. Add to that soliciting at meetings, assemblies, etc. and the way they go about it is a bit shady, methinks.
